As soon as I opened back up my virtual assistant/project management services, my heart felt at ease. I was in my zone of genius.

I was talking to a client last week, and she said that most of the time she feels so lonely in her business and knowing that she has me there is such a comfort to her. Do you know how much joy that brings me? There are no words. I am so grateful to be that safe place and that sounding board for her.

Business just feels so good again. I’m so grateful for that.

This year has been the hardest and most eye-openin

This year has been the hardest and most eye-opening year in my business.

Just typing those words makes me wince a little because I choose to focus on the positive and I choose to stay grateful, but I also choose to be as authentic and “real” in this journey as possible.

2023 has forced me to reevaluate everything.

Starting with the fact that at the beginning of the year, I had all of these grand plans.

✅Join a mastermind
✅Niche my services
✅Increase my rates
✅Streamline the backend of my business
✅Begin content creation as a creative outlet

I began allll those things. And what happened?

I lost over half of my client load due to medical emergencies, loss of sales, restructuring of teams, etc.

Losing over half of my client load resulted in losing over half of my income.

It was scary.
It was humbling.
It made me question what the heck I’m doing.

So, instead of continuing to post the generic, obligatory, and “businessy” content that I am supposed to post. I just stopped. I took a huge step back. I began to reevaluate.

I went back to my original vision. I went back to my “why”.

Why did I leave a career that I truly loved to build this freelancing business?
What did I want long-term for my business? For my life?
Was my current life what I wanted it to be? As a business owner? As a mom? As a wife?

I went DEEEEEP, y’all.

In doing so, I implemented a self-care routine. I journaled and meditated daily. I spent time with those that I love the most. If there was a trip to take, I took it. If there was a time for rest, I rested. If there was a memory to make, I made it.

I stopped being so consumed with business and began to notice all the beautiful things in my life.
So in September, this is where I’m at y’all:

✨My worth isn’t tied to the success of my business.
✨If I don’t want to niche my services, I don’t have to. I love being a VA dang it.
✨It’s okay to unfollow those that may trigger the insecurities that you are working on.
✨It’s okay to release goals that just aren’t healthy for you and that are no longer serving you.
✨It’s okay to step away and take time for yourself.

Special needs parenting is never a journey that I thought I would be on, but it has truly made me a better human being.

So thankful for Allie and all that she continues to teach me. 💜
